We have a truly diverse membership, at about 40% Black, 40% White, 15% Hispanic and 5% Asian. We’re also diverse in our life situations, as you’ll find married couples, single professionals, college students, teenagers, retired folks, white-collar and blue-collar workers, stay-at-home parents and more. We believe that the composition of the church should reflect the beauty and diversity of its surrounding community.
"Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many."
1 Corinthians 12:12-14
We know visiting a new church can sometimes feel a little intimidating. We’ll do our best to make you feel right at home.
Of course! But there is no expectation that you participate in communion as a guest. However, if you want to take communion at our services, you're more than welcome to do so.
We want to make sure that both children and adults enjoy an encouraging and inspiring time each Sunday. During worship services, we offer a children's ministry for infants through 6th graders, allowing parents to fully engage in worship while their children enjoy an age-appropriate time of learning and fun.
We believe the church is simply a body of believers who have become disciples of Jesus. If you want to be a part of this community, the first step is to study the Bible and commit to what Jesus expects of His followers. To set up a personal Bible study or to attend a group Bible study in your neighborhood, fill out the form below!
Hey, thanks for reaching out! We'll be in touch shortly!
“You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:14)
It is the greatest ambition of the Chicago Church of Christ to be a beacon of
hope and light to our great city. We are proud of our spiritual community, and we celebrate our history and our diversity — the richness of what makes us part of God’s family, His Kingdom.
It is our desire to let the light of the Gospel shine as brightly as possible across the entire Chicagoland area. We are a people who love one another and the communities in which we live. And while we seek to live in the celebration and joy of our Christian calling, we are not unaware of the many spiritual challenges people face in our world today. It has been said that, in the darkest hour and in the darkest places, light shines brightest.
So we live with purpose, according to the calling of Jesus, to be a people of hope and light and love in that darkness. We seek to be a people who serve our communities and hold out God’s Word as the guiding path toward hope for all people. We live, worship and build our families with this great calling in mind — to go and make disciples of Jesus. It is in this sense of mission and purpose that we find our point of impact — to bring God glory while offering a message of fulfillment and peace to a world in desperate need of both. To know God and make God known is our vision.
