Shine the Light

17 February 2022

“You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:14)

It is the greatest ambition of the Chicago Church of Christ to be a beacon of hope and light to our great city. We are proud of our spiritual community, and we celebrate our history and our diversity — the richness of what makes us part of God’s family, His Kingdom

It is our desire to let the light of the Gospel shine as brightly as possible across the entire
Chicagoland area. We are a people who love one another and the communities in which we live. But while we seek to live in the celebration and joy of our Christian calling, we are not unaware of the many spiritual challenges people face in our world today. It has been said that, in the darkest hour and in the darkest places, light shines brightest.

So we live with purpose, according to the calling of Jesus, to be a people of hope and light and love in that darkness. We seek to be a people who serve our communities and hold out God’s Word as the guiding path toward hope for all people. We live, worship and build our families with this great calling in mind — to go and make disciples of Jesus. It is in this sense of mission and purpose that we find our point of impact — to bring God glory while bringing a message of fulfillment and peace to a world in desperate need of both. To know God and make God known is our vision.
